You sold €10,000 last month, but €6,000 arrived in your bank account. Nothing went wrong — that gap is how marketplace payouts work. Between an order and a payout sit settlement delays, commission, creator fees, shipping, refunds and adjustments, each recorded on its own line.
This guide explains how money moves from a TikTok Shop order to your bank account, what gets deducted on the way, and where to find each figure. Rules differ by market and change often, so every fact links to its source — always check it against your own Seller Center.
- An order is paid out only after it is settled, and new sellers in the EU wait 31 days after delivery.
- The 9% commission in the EU and UK is charged on more than your product price, including customer-paid shipping and platform discounts.
- Affiliate commission, shipping fees, vouchers, refunds and adjustments are deducted on separate lines.
- Reconcile by settlement period, not by order date.
Settlement vs payout
Two terms do most of the work:
- Settlement — the amount TikTok Shop owes you for an order once it is final. In simplified form: net sales, minus the TikTok Shop shipping fee, minus fees, plus adjustments. A settlement can be negative, for example when the shipping fee is higher than what the customer paid for shipping. (TikTok Shop UK Seller University)
- Payout — the transfer of settled money to your bank account. TikTok Shop does not charge a fee for the payout itself.
In Seller Center, funds move through three states: On-hold (not yet settled — for example, waiting for delivery or for a refund to complete), Processing (payout initiated) and Paid (typically arrives 1–3 business days after it is initiated). A negative settlement is deducted from your next payout. (TikTok Shop UK Seller University)
When you get paid
In the EU — including Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Ireland — settlement timing depends on your settlement tier: the number of days after delivery before an order is settled (TikTok Shop Seller University, IE).
| Tier | Days after delivery |
|---|---|
| Introductory (new sellers) | 31 |
| Standard | 8 |
| Accelerated | 3 |
| Express | 1 |
| Deferred | 31 |
New sellers start on the introductory tier, so in the first month it can look as if money is missing — it simply is not settled yet. Guides written for the US quote different numbers; rely on the page for your market.
In the UK, TikTok’s own pages have described different timings over the years. Check Finance in your Seller Center for the rule that applies to your shop today.
What gets deducted
Platform commission
Since 8 January 2026, the commission in Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Ireland is 9% (VAT-inclusive), with 7% for some categories such as household appliances, many electronics and certain beauty devices (TikTok Shop Seller University, IE). The UK rate has been 9% since September 2024 (UK).
The commission is not charged on your product price alone. Its base includes customer-paid shipping and platform-funded discounts, minus refunds (TikTok Shop Seller University, DE). On a full return the commission is refunded; on a partial return it is refunded per item.
New sellers in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Ireland can get a reduced 4% for 60 days if they upload at least five products within 15 days — claim it under Growth Opportunities in Seller Center (TikTok Shop Seller University, IT).
Everything else
TikTok’s UK fee overview lists the line items you will see on a statement (TikTok Shop UK Seller University):
- TikTok Shop shipping fee, FBT shipping fee and return shipping fee
- Customer-paid shipping (credited to you) and shipping subsidies
- Affiliate commission — the creator’s rate applied to the price after seller and platform discounts
- Seller co-funded vouchers — discounts you pay for
- Platform discount refunds
- Adjustments — logistics reimbursements, policy violations, chargebacks, promotion discrepancies and negative-balance settlements
The official EU and UK fee pages do not list a separate payment or transaction fee.
Where to find the data
Go to Finances → Statements and view by order or by statement, or open Payouts. Exports are available under Export → Export History as multi-sheet Excel files. Reconcile by settlement period, not by order date — an order placed in March can settle in April.
Why your payout doesn’t match your sales
When the bank transfer looks wrong, it is usually one of these:
- Orders are not delivered or not settled yet — especially on the 31-day introductory tier.
- Affiliate commission on creator-driven sales.
- Return shipping and refunds, including refunds issued after the order was already paid out.
- Seller-funded vouchers and promotions.
- A negative balance carried over from a previous settlement.
- Adjustments and chargebacks.
- Commission charged on more than the product price — it also covers shipping paid by the customer and platform discounts.
Each of these is visible in your statements, but spread across hundreds of rows and several settlement periods.
